Day 1 of the Under 21s saw 33 matches take place over the course of the day. Tyler Rees (Wales) heads the breaks table with a 115 in the third frame of his Group B opening match. In Group D, Andres Petrov of Estonia prevented his opponent scoring in the first two frames, in which he also strung together breaks of 75 and 86.
In Group R, both Brian Cini (Malta) and Paweł Rogoza (Poland) had resounding 3-0 wins. With Brian and Pavel not meeting each other until Friday noon, this group will stay particularly finely balanced until then.
