Chris Totten of Scotland has won today’s European Mens Championship final, beating Estonian Andres Petrov by seven frames to three as John Pellew officiated.
The 18 year old lost the first frame and then took the next two despite breaks of 51 and 68 by his opponent. Andres levelled the natch in a closely fought fourth frame then took the lead again in a one sided fifth, aided by another 50 break. Chris turned the tables on Andres in the sixth, winning easily to tie the match at the interval.
After the restart, Chris opened with a 55 in a 105-1 win and kept his opponent tight, reeling off a four frame run to seal the title.
Both Chris and Andres have played some fantastic snooker this week and beaten some highly talented players, so it was a great shame that one had to lose.
