Clarke’s 104 helps him to 3rd win

Clarke's 104 helps him to 3rd win
Jamie Clarke knocked in a superb 104 break tonight in his 4-0 win over Croatia’s Davor Bobek for his third win in a row.
The break was probably the highlight of the night as most of the matches are starting to get a bit nervy as most of the groups come down to the final stages. Clarke now leads Group Q with three wins but will play Robert Vallance next which will probably be the groups deciding match.
One more match was played tonight in this group with Israel’s Mor Mezrhei defeating Daniel Mily 4-2 for his first win of the week.

Elsewhere Ireland’s Rodney Goggins, pictured,  is now top of Group B in the mens section thanks to a 4-1 win over Antti Mannila tonight. Goggins will now face Roman Dietzel in their last match tomorrow night with the winner taking top spot in the group. Dietzel earlier defeated young Iulian Boiko from the Ukraine 4-0 which included a good 58 break in the second frame.
Also in Group B despite Bulgaria’s Salim Otti going 3-2 ahead with the help of a 69 break along the way Denmark’s Thomas Salling fought back to take the match 4-3. The win leaves Salling in a strong position to qualify from the group with Ukraine’s Iulian Boiko left to play in his last match.
In Group C in the mens section both Grzegorz Biernadski (Poland) and Mitchell Mann (England) had solid 4-0 victories tonight.
Biernadski had breaks of 52 and 56 in his win over Sergej Korolkov from Lithuania while Mann had a 65 break during his win over Anthony Brabin from Cyprus. Mann now leads the group with four wins while Biernadski picked up his first win and should now qualify 3rd or 4th.
Iceland’s Kristján Helgason looks like topping group D in the mens section after he just beat Poland’s Krzysztof Wróbel 4-2.
The win leaves the Icelander with four wins from four but with him still having to play Duane Jones this group may not be sorted until the last match on Saturday morning.
Also in Group R tonight Ireland’s Josh Boileau had a good 4-2 win over Germany’s Tobias Friedrichs with both players playing some great snooker. Boileau had a top run of 84 while Tobias also had a good 53.
