European Snooker has a new Vice President and Treasurer Oleg Velinov

Bulgaria’s Father of Snooker Oleg Velinov is now in the combined role as the new Vice President and Treasurer of the European Billiards and Snooker Association (EBSA).

Oleg has a passion for the game like nobody else, his love of Snooker, his brilliant organisational skills and knowledge of the Sport makes him the ideal candidate and the EBSA are delighted to have him on board.

It is no coincidence that the first event in the Ramada Princess Hotel in Sofia where a PTC was held and it is the very same Hotel where he has been elected to the EBSA, Oleg fell in love with the game instantly and he was always destined for bigger things in the World of Snooker.

Oleg first got involved in Snooker in 2006, but at that time there wasn’t any Bulgaria Snooker Federation, but 12 Months later and Oleg founded what today is the official Bulgarian Snooker Federation.

Since then the EBSA, WST, WSF and the IBSF have all had the privilige of being hosted for events organised by Oleg Velinov.

Oleg is without a doubt a very modest man and really hasn’t any time for airs or graces, he is somebody that will give 100% or nothing.

Oleg said “I suppose it is good for Bulgarian Sport that we have somebody at the top table, but I am not a person that thinks about Titles, I have always been a worker and I will work hard for the EBSA and do the best that I can”.

Oleg is respected to the highest level in the game and was officially welcomed to the position by the Current EBSA President Maxim Cassis and the Current EBSA General Secretary Simon Smith and they were joined by WPBSA Chairman Jason Ferguson and the President of the IBSF Mubarak Al-Khayarin.

We left the last words to the newly elected Vice President “None of any of this would be possible without my beautiful wife Vesela and my girls”.
