Jans and Prysazhnuka to play for the European title

Wendy Jans and Anna Prysazhnuka will face each other for the Women individual title at the 2023 European Championships in Albena (Bulgaria).

Jans, a 14-time champion faced no troubles in the knockout round beating Poles Ewa Pawlinska and Dalia Alska by 4:0. The Belgian hasn’t lost a single frame in the Championships while knocking record nine breaks of 30 or more points along the way.

Prysazhnuka after winning Group B knocked out her compatriot and former champion Tatjana Vasiljeva (4:1) before dispatching top seed Izabela Lacka by a score of 4:0. The Pole was visibly exhausted by the 8-hour marathon against Anja Vandenbsussche and struggled for the 180 minutes the match lasted.

This will be the fourth match between Jans and Prysazhnuka in the history of the Championships with the Belgian winning all three previous. The final is set to begin at 12:00 EET (11:00 CET) on Friday, June 9th.
