Let’s meet the European 6 Reds Final Referee Aonghus McAnally from the Rep of Ireland.

Aonghus McAnally is somebody that has always been a person in love with Billiards and Snooker, from his days commentating at the Irish Masters in Goffs in Kildare which ran from 1978 until 2000, to his involvement and commitment to his EBSA and IBSF Snooker Refereeing responsibilities and his Board position with World Billiards, which is his real passion.

From Portmarnock in Co. Dublin Aonghus is a very well known Broadcaster, Presenter and Musical Star, something that he enjoys to this day. Aonghus has been at the sharp end of many snooker events including World Billiards events, EBSA Tournaments and World Women’s Snooker (WWS) where Aonghus was very much involved when the WWS came to the home of Snooker & Billiards Ireland in Carlow recently.

This is the first EBSA Final for Aonghus to officiate and he was more than happy to be asked to Referee the 6 Reds decider, Aonghus said “It is an absolute honour to be asked to Referee the final, it is great to see Irish Referees getting an opportunity to be involved in the top level of European Snooker. I will Referee the Final to the very best of my ability and I am really looking forward to it”.

Best of Irish Luck to Aonghus, not that he will need it!
