A rare ton puts Boiko in the final
Iulian Boiko will meet Shachar Ruberg in the final of the 2023 European Championships in Albena (Bulgaria). Boiko made a rare for this format ton, compiling a 109 and finishing his semifinal against Eden Sharav (Israel) with almost three minutes to spare. The 109 also moved him atop the highest break prize list.
The other semi was way cagier. Ruberg got a ball in hand after his opponent Marcin Nitschke (Poland) fouled the pink while playing a safety. The Israeli capitalized with a break of 30 before the time running out forced Nitschke to go for it from everywhere with little success.
