Carty suffers first defeat
Yet another shock result in the second session of the day as England’s Ashley Carty went down 3-1 to Markus Pfistermüller of Austria. It was Markus’s first win of the event out of his first three matches and put’s him right back in contention to claim a spot in the top four qualifiers.
Otherwise most of the top seeds had an easy session with the Welsh having a good session with Jamie Clarke, Duane Jones and Sam Thomas all recording solid wins with Clarke notching up a superb 91 break in the final frame of his match against Ales Herout.
