Malta Schools Coaching Day

EBSA Head of Coaching PJ Nolan held a special junior snooker coaching session for talented Maltese junior players from the schools all around in Malta on Saturday 11th March from 10am-1pm.

The Coaching session was held in the Dolmen Hotel during the 2023 European U-16, U-18, U-21, Men’s Snooker Championships.

EBSA Qualified Maltese Coaches Ivan Attard, Philip Ciantar and Kevin J Vella were also on hand to assist the players on the day. A mini tournament was held on the small star tables and the final was played on the main cue zone rasson match table.

Malta Billiards and Snooker Association President Ivan Brincat said it was fantastic to see so many young players attending this great coaching session with PJ Nolan and our team of Maltese coaches. I really hope they learnt good fundamentals and practice more to improve in the future.  

PJ worked on developing good fundamentals in their Approach, Cue Action, Stance and Bridge Hand plus he outlined key practice routines to practice. PJ ‘’ said that junior cue zones are a vital part in our development of the sport. The EBSA are delighted to have our coaching team here in Malta coaching the future stars of the game in Malta.

EBSA will hold free cue zones for players at this years European Championship. The EBSA have 93 Qualified coaches from Ireland, France, Austria Romania, Israel, Bulgaria, Wales, Malta, Germany, Poland, Netherlands, Portugal, Czech Republic, Ukraine, Isle of Man, Hungary, Belgium, England, Sweden, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Lithuania, Belarus, Switzerland, Almena, Bosnia, Albania, Macedonia, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Estonia, Slovenia, Serbia and Moldova on the EBSA coaching team.

If you would like to become an EBSA Official Snooker Coach, first step is to get your National Governing body to write to the EBSA to nominate you to apply to hold or attend a course.
