LADIES QUARTER FINALS

DEFENDING CHAMPION WENDY JANS CONTINUED THE DEFENCE OF HER TITLE BY OVERCOMING ANASTASIA NECHAEVA OF RUSSIA BY 3 FRAMES TO NIL.  THIS MATCH WAS A REPEAT OF THE SEMI FINAL LAST YEAR.

IN THE OTHER HALF OF THE DRAW ANNA PRYSAZHNUKA OF LATVIA CAME THROUGH BY 3 FRAMES TO 1 DESPITE LOSING THE FIRST FRAME AGAINST CHRISTELLE PEDAT OF FRANCE. YANA SHUT OF BELARUS COMPLETES THE SEMI FINAL LINE UP.

 

MASTERS.   REPLAY OF FINALS IN LAST 16

THE PICK OF THE QUARTER FINALS IS THE REMATCH OF LAST WEEKS OPEN FINAL BETWEEN DARREN MORGAN OF WALES AND MICHAEL JUDGE OF IRELAND.  DARREN IS STILL ON COURSE TO DEFEND HIS TITLE BUT MICHAEL WILL BE HOPING TO GO ONE BETTER THEN HE DID AGAINST DARREN LAST WEEK.

THE SAME HALF OF THE DRAW PUTS WAYNE BROWN THE SIX REDS FINALIST AGAINST MARK TUITE OF IRELAND. WAYNE AND KRISTJAN HELGASON REPLAYED THEIR SIX REDS FINAL AND THE MAN FROM ENGLAND REVERSED THAT RESULT TO MOVE INTO THE QUARTER FINALS.

THE TOP HALF OF THE DRAW HAS ELFED EVANS OF WALES PLAYING RUNE KAMPE OF DENMARK (Photo). ELFED MADE A BREAK OF 92 IN FRAME 6 TO LEVEL THE MATCH AND SET UP A FINAL FRAME DECIDER IN WHICH HE EDGED OUT THE IRISHMAN.
