Strong start for Poland 2 in the Men’s Team event
Poland 2 made a lightning start in Group A of the Men’s Team event at the 2023 European Championships in Albena (Bulgaria). Mateusz Baranowski and Antoni Kowalski needed just over two hours to defeat Bulgaria 2 5:0 with Kowalski closing the match with a break of 75 in the fifth frame.
Also, in Group A Malta 2 turned around the match against Ireland 1 with a break of 95 from Joseph Casha and a clutch clearance for the 3:2 win.
In Group D both matches finished with a similar score line. Wales beat Poland 3 3:2 while Ireland 2 came from two frames down to secure the victory against Bulgaria 1 after a scrappy doubles’ frame that lasted over 80 minutes.
