Double hopes for Ireland and Scotland at ‘quarters’
Ireland’s Brendan O’Donoghue and Ross Bulman can face each other in a possible 100 per cent Irish clash and semifinal on Saturday if they go through quarterfinals, still to be played best of 7 Frames this Friday starting 3 p.m..
But after the conclusion of this March 17th morning Last 16 round matches, also Scotland, which as already claimed the U16 and U21 championships here in Malta by Jack Borwick and Liam Graham, also can dream with a possible best of 9 Frames Gran Final match of the Men’s championship on Saturday from 6 p.m. if Michael Collumb and Ross Muir both get two more wins in ‘quarters’ and semis.
Besides Ireland and Scotland, a total of six countries still can aim for the 2023 champion after the Last 16 round matches: Israel (Shachar Ruberg), England (2018 European Champion Harvey Chandler), Latvia (Rodion Judin) and Finland (Robin Hull).
