Ladies’ teams down to 4
Thursday saw the playoff action kick off with the quarterfinals in the Ladies’ team division, as Russia’s Nechaeva & Sirotina duo took care of Poland’s Alska & Sikorska, and Latvia’s Vasiljeva & Prysazhnuka left no hope for their Romanian opponents Maracine & Manolache 3-0. Germany’s team was the next to join the semifinals, as Stateczny & Zehentner won over Ireland’s Sherwin & Mill 3-1. The last quarterfinals went down to the wire as Belarus’ Shut & Toumilovitch edged a 3-2 victory over France’s Pedat & Vialard, with Shut sealing the deal on the final black.
