Nechaeva and Jones win again
Anastasia Nechaeva and Hannah Jones have just won their fourth matches in a row in Group B of the Ladies Event with 3-0 wins over Weronika Nowicka and Nikoleta Nikolova respectively. Jones and Nechaeva both play each other in the final group game tomorrow at 1pm to decide the group winner.
Nechaeva had a 40 break in her first frame and won the next two leave the Polish player Nikolova needing a win against Yana Shut on Saturday to qualify. Shut put herself back in contention for a qualifying spot this after she beat Ukrainian Aleksandra Serova 3-0 comfortably.
In the other Ladies match played at 1pm Irina Gorbataya had a solid 3-0 victory over Poland’s Dalia Alska in Group A. Irina is currently in 2nd place in the group but faces defending champion Wendy Jans tomorrow needing a result to make sure she stays ahead of England’s Vicky Carter who faces Dalia Alska.
