The 11 instruments referee

One can never imagine the man behind the referee or the player. Try to teach 85 music students at your private school, manage your own Snooker Academy and still play bass-guitar at a band. Now you imagine Moldova’s Class3 snooker referee Catalin Cojoc’s crazy daily routine.

One of the three referees coming from Albania to this 2022 EBSA European Snooker Championships is a very famous star in his own country and especially Bacau’s town.

PhD in Italian and English Studies as in Marketing and Management, Cojoc is a snooker lover but has much as he can be dazzled by watching Ronnie playing snooker, it’s USA’s guitar master Joe Satriani his main idol in the most loved of the 11 instruments (!) he plays.

Catalin and his music students: he teaches 85 playing any instrument

«They are both at the same level in my heart, such as my music students. I can play guitar, bass guitar, drums, flute, saxophone, piano and several more typical instruments from my country. But it’s the happiness I see in my music students or refereeing such good and young players here at the European Championships that makes my day», told us the ‘multitask’ moldovian. Catalin still has the time to play bass guitar at the band ‘Playlist’. And can’t imagine leaving any of his own passions behind. Music and snooker are his life.
